About my website photographs
Homepage
Gibson Mill at Hardcastle Crags - a National Trust property near Hebden Bridge. I keep meaning to change this homepage image, but can't find a better one to encompass both natural and built heritage.
Experience
Metal type at Robert Smail's Printing Works - a National Trust for Scotland property in Innerleithen. Fantastic guided tour - took me right back to my days spent in the Type Studio at Bath Academy of Art in the eighties. (That's the nineteen eighties!)
Photography
Ramsden Clough, Walsden, near Todmorden. Taken with my mobile phone as I just had to capture the changing light and autumn colours.
Copywriting
These Swaledale ladies posed obligingly in Nidderdale when I was writing an article about the sheep breeds of Britain and their uses.
Featured Projects
St Pancras Chambers. What a photogenic building!
How I can help
On a footpath between Thoralby and Aysgarth in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. This is the area my Mother's family are from and, as a child, I spent a great deal of time here. My Dales ancestors were farmers and, today, most of my relatives in the area are still farmers.
Contact
A lovely beech tree on the Ardgour Estate in NW Scotland. I've recently become a bit of a tree-hugger.
Links
The light was great and this couple were walking in front of me - clearly enjoying the South Pennine landscape. I couldn't resist.
On this page
Early morning light. A traditional hay meadow in the Dordogne. A rare sight now in the UK.
It can be quite a challenge to find photographs that fit this long, narrow shape!
